Investment Planning Process

CLIENT MEETINGS & DATA ASSEMBLY

In the initial meeting, the client learns the process used by Patriot Asset Management to develop an investment portfolio and asset allocation. Also in these initial meetings, important data such as tax items, cash flow issues, retirement plans and other needs that are specific to the client are assembled.

ASSESSMENT OF FINANCIAL PROFILE

An assessment of the financial profile allows us to develop an investment portfolio that will help the client achieve their specific goals and objectives.

INVESTMENT POLICY STATEMENT

The Investment Policy Statement outlines the client’s specific objectives and restrictions. This statement serves as the guideline for the investments recommendations that will be used to develop the investment portfolio. This document is the basis of our investment management relationship. It establishes objectives, defines your asset allocation strategy and clearly states your investment goals. Other issues are also identified and documented in the Investment Policy Statement. Tax considerations, current and future cash flow needs, retirement planning issues and other considerations are outlined in the policy. This policy can be changed as the client’s needs and objectives change.

IMPLEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

Once the Investment Policy Statement is in place, new accounts are set up, funded and investment advisory contracts are signed. Investment portfolios are then constructed using the target allocations agreed upon in the Investment Policy Statement.

PORTFOLIO MONITORING

Patriot Asset Management will perform an annual review meeting with the client (more frequently if required). The investment portfolio is continuously monitored and the positions are re-balanced to keep the portfolio in conformity with agreed upon the Investment Policy Statement.
